- Graphics Software:

You will want to investigate your options regarding graphics software to support this class and your future engagements in imaging.

Adobe offers the industry standards for photographers with :

Adobe Lightroom
and Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Reader for accessing PDFs (http://get.adobe.com/reader/)

I recommend a review of both however, Lightroom is presently my strongest recommendation for students working strictly photographically. If you are intending to pursue continued study in graphic design you may want to consider a broader option such as Photoshop and its suite of other applications.

Adobe has recently changed their distribution policies and practices with regard to software with the development of the Adobe Creative Cloud. Educational Creative Cloud subscriptions are discounted for students and can be purchased directly from Adobe (*please review specifics in the link below) :
http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud.edu.html

The SRJC Bookstore also offers and selection of software to students with proof of id onsite at the Santa Rosa Campus. Inventory varies by semester.

An alternative to Adobe is Gimp an open source graphics application equivalent to Adobe's Photoshop.
