Digital Arts - © basearts / John Sappington

Description:
An introduction to the basic principles, practices, techniques of digital art production.
Students will develop and enhance their abilities in the creation of digital artworks.
Course introduces production techniques of computer generated imagery, scanning
technology, audio, photography and video.

ArtQuest Digital Art classes will incorporate the California State Department of Education Framework for the Visual Arts at the appropriate levels.
It is assumed that students who have applied and have been accepted to the Digital Arts program have a deep interest in the Arts, Computers,
Photography, Drawing, Video or Animation fields and some experiences in making artwork.

CA State VA Framework is organized around the following five components:

  • Artistic Perception - Perception of art and identification of structures and functions of art, using the language of visual arts.

  • Creative Expression - Making art works and developing skills with the variety of media and processes, expressive of personal experiences or responses

  • Historical and Cultural Context - Exploring the role of art in culture and human history, including themes and style.

  • Aesthetic Valuing - Deriving meaning from art works through analysis, interpretation and judgment

  • Connections, relationships and applications involve connecting and applying what is learned in one arts discipline to learning in the other arts, other subject areas, and careers.
